      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">If you aren't familiar with Erewhon, it's a VERY <a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/heres-all-the-weird-stuff-they-sell-at-the-grocery-store">bougie grocery store</a> here in LA that's known for being super <a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/rossyoder/erewhon-grocery-store-prices">expensive</a>. And its smoothies are no exception — most are around $17-20.</span>

      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">On my everlasting smoothie quest, I've already tried <a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/shelbyheinrich/coconut-cloud-smoothie-erewhon-tiktok">Marianna Hewitt's Cloud Smoothie</a> and <a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/shelbyheinrich/hailey-bieber-erewhon-smoothie-recipe">Hailey Bieber's Strawberry Skin Smoothie</a>, which launched at Erewhon for a limited time this past spring and summer, respectively.</span>

      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">I didn't waste any time in taking a sip, and my first impression was that it was VERY creamy and banana-forward. I waited for more flavors/tastes to pop up, but honestly, none really did. It mostly just tasted like bananas and cream.</span>

      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">I tried mixing up the smoothie with my straw to see if I could get anything else, but it still tasted pretty much the same throughout my entire drinking experience. It didn't taste BAD, per se, but it was definitely missing that OOMPH that'd have me barreling back to Erewhon for more. IMO, just a little plain, but still pleasant. I drank the whole thing, though.</span>

      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">Even though Kourtney's Poosh smoothie wasn't my absolute fave, I still wanted to try my hand at making it at home, a.) to see if that would be any cheaper, and b.) to find out of it's possible to recreate it for anyone who might want to try it but doesn't live near an Erewhon (or who doesn't want to spend almost $20 on a drink. I see you and I feel you!!!).</span>

      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">These are all the ingredients I bought. While I hoped that making the smoothie at home would be cheaper, my grocery bill was a whopping $94.87!!! I think what did me in was the <a href="https://us.foursigmatic.com/products/protein-can-sweet-vanilla" target="_blank" data-skimlinks-tracking="6343940" data-affiliate="true">Four Sigmatic</a> protein powder, which, to be fair, came in a giant tub and can be used for other things. In terms of the other ingredients, I bought enough to probably make 4-5 smoothies, so the cost-per-smoothie would be about $18 (aka, the same as if you were to buy it at Erewhon, lol).</span>

I also decided to forgo the hyaluronic acid and BLK drops because I couldn't find them on my grocery trip, and I figured they wouldn't have a huge impact on the taste anyway.<br></p><h2>
    

    
      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">Erewhon famously doesn't provide exact amounts for its smoothie recipes, so I decided to use my best judgement. Here's the recipe I landed on:</span>
    
  </h2><p>—1/2 cup Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water</p><p>—4.4 oz container of Harmless Harvest Vanilla Flavored Dairy-Free Coconut Yogurt Alternative&nbsp;</p><p>—1/2 cup MALK Almond Milk</p><p>—1 tbsp. Four Sigmatic Sweet Vanilla Protein Powder</p><p>—1 tsp. Charcoal</p><p>—1 tbsp. Maple Syrup</p><p>—2 tsp.&nbsp; Cacao Powder</p><p>—1/2 Avocado</p><p>—1/2 cup Blueberries</p><p>—1 Banana</p><p>—Zuma Valley Coconut Cream to taste</p><p>*I've made close to a zillion smoothies in my life, so I felt pretty confident about these proportions. But if you'd like to try a different copycat recipe, I found <a href="https://www.popsugar.com/food/kourtney-kardashian-poosh-erewhon-smoothie-recipe-review-48979320" target="_blank" data-skimlinks-tracking="6343940" data-affiliate="true">this one</a> and <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@kbmamaa/video/7157018634370420011" target="_blank" data-skimlinks-tracking="6343940" data-affiliate="true">this one</a>.&nbsp;</p><h2>
    

    
      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">Making the smoothie was pretty easy (minus a few mishaps  I'll get into later). Basically, all I had to do was blend everything together, minus the coconut cream. I added nearly every ingredient to my blending cup, and it was looking FULL.</span>

      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">At this point, all I had to do was add the protein powder, charcoal powder, and cacao powder. Here's where disaster struck: The charcoal power got <i>everywhere</i>. All over my hands, the counter, and the sleeves of my sweatshirt. And, as I was trying to wash it all off, I accidentally bumped the open pouch of cocao powder, and it spilled ALL OVER my kitchen floor!!!</span>

      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">After spending about 15 minutes sweeping/wiping up the cacao mountain, I was pretty over the whole process, but I tried not to let my own clumsiness taint my view of the smoothie! I put in all the powders and was finally ready to blend!</span>

      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">In terms of flavor, my at-home version was VERY similar to the OG Poosh smoothie. Once again, it literally tasted like bananas and cream, although I feel like mine had the TINIEST hint of blueberry flavor. The original was also a bit sweeter than mine, so I probably could've added more maple syrup. I still drank the whole thing, but once again, I felt like it was missing a wow-factor.</span>

      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">Overall, I'd give the Kourtney Kardashian Poosh Potion Detox Smoothie a 3/5. It's obviously gorgeous and was (semi) easy to make, but for $18, I think I need a little more OOMPH. And since making it at home is also decently expensive, I don't think it's one I'll be making again and again. With that being said, it still makes for a great IG pic!</span>

      <span class="js-subbuzz__title-text">Kourtney's smoothie will be available at Erewhon until November 15, but if you cant make in time or don't live in LA, making it at home is still a great option. Just know that if you (like me) don't have a ton of the ingredients lying around, it might be a pricey investment. But it'll probably still taste 95% like the original!</span>
